Not a repair man. Suggest you send it in to Canon and ask for an estimate to repair. You can always turn down the estimate. How ever from what you describe, sounds like 1. They may not be able to repair "dents" like you would a car. 2.

What digital camera lens would be best for taking photos at the zoo of animals about 50+ yards away with shade
Right now im using a 18-200mm VR nikkor and 7-300mm VR nikkor to zoom right into the closeups of animals faces at the zoo, it works very nice until they move or open their mouth, and it gets blurry, and i miss the rare money shot!

A faster lens like a 70-200 f/2.8 will help, but you won't be getting the same reach as you would with your current 70-300. If you're okay with 200mm as your maximum focal length, by all means.

I then mounted rail covers to the 3 and 9 O'clock also hanging out off the end of the rail as well. With my last LWRC, the awesome M6A3, I mounted the then new Magpul AFG foregrip on the far end of the bottom 1913 rail of the ARM-R. It gave me about another 2 inches of reach with the AFG and rail covers hanging off the end of the rail. The longest rail system offered has always been their very well made 10in ARM-R rail. In my early shooting career I was like a lot of shooters and ran the magwell grip or the vertical grip way back on the rail. First I have always wanted a longer rail system. I like being able to get further out on the gun with my offhand, closer towards the muzzle to allow me to drive the gun and control recoil better. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about the LWRC weapons....
